Binoy Prabhakar has been appointed Chief Content Officer of Firstpost.

The news has been shared by Santosh Menon in an internal company communication, assessed by e4m.

“We’re delighted to welcome Binoy Prabhakar, a highly seasoned editor with a strong track record across prominent media organisations such as Hindustan Times, The Economic Times, The Indian Express, and our own Moneycontrol and CNBCTV18.com. Binoy brings deep editorial expertise of 25 years, and a proven track record in building and leading digital news operations. He joins us as Chief Content Officer of Firstpost to guide and strengthen our editorial direction during the exciting, next phase of the brand,” the note mentioned.

Binoy Prabhakar recently stepped down from his position as Chief Content Officer at Hindustan Times Digital.  

Prabhakar joined Hindustan Times in April 2023 as Chief Content Officer and spent close to three years overseeing the company’s digital content operations. Prior to this, he served as Editor at Moneycontrol from March 2020 to April 2023. His earlier roles include Editor at CNBCTV18.com between 2018 and 2020 and Deputy Executive Editor – Special Projects at Network18. He also spent more than 11 years with The Economic Times.

Prabhakar joins Firstpost even as Palki Sharma quit as the Managing Editor of the platform.
