Anita Kotwani has stepped down as Chief Client Officer, dentsu South Asia.

Sources close to the development have confirmed this news to e4m.

Kotwani joined dentsu in 2020 as CEO of Carat India, where she steered the agency through a challenging period marked by shifting client demands, digital acceleration, and intensified competition. In March 2023, she was elevated to CEO, Media South Asia, taking charge of Carat, iProspect, dentsu X, Posterscope and Amplifi. During this period, she worked closely with global and regional teams to reshape dentsu’s media proposition into a more integrated, digital-first offering.

Her responsibilities widened further when she became Chief Client Officer earlier this year, where she focused on group-level client partnerships across Creative, Media, CXM, Brand Experience, Retail and Sports-Gaming-Entertainment (SGE). Her remit also included strengthening integrated solutions and driving growth across key markets.

Before dentsu, Kotwani spent more than 15 years at Mindshare India, rising through senior leadership roles and eventually heading new business nationally. She played a central role in winning large mandates and managing marquee accounts across FMCG, entertainment, BFSI, and diversified conglomerates. Prior to Mindshare, she held leadership roles at Initiative (Lintas Media Group), where she handled major clients such as Unilever, Videocon, and Bombay Dyeing, and contributed to the development of media optimisation tools and research models.

Kotwani’s early career included stints at Dainik Bhaskar Group, where she worked on the launch of the brand in new North Indian markets, focusing on sales strategy, data analysis and market expansion.

Repeated attempts by exchange4media to reach Anita Kotwani and Harsha Razdan for comments went unanswered till the time of publication.
