TDI bags exclusive ad rights at 42 Delhi Metro stations

TDI has been awarded exclusive advertising rights for 42 metro stations on September 1, 2014. TDI International India has been serving the OOH sector in India since 1986, being the first to bring advertising to the airports of India.

Metros are now an indispensable part of India's mass rapid transit system. The stations offer multitude of options available for Metro Advertising in India. The Delhi Metro (DMRC) is the lifeline of the National Capital Region and connects a majority of the city through its widespread rail network.

Delhi Metro advertising options are available in six lines, out of which TDI has exclusive branding options to provide visibility to its clients at the red line, yellow line and the green line.

The bidding for these tenders was held amidst tough competition with three top advertising agencies aiming for the same.

The Delhi Metro Advertising has firmly established itself as a prominent media option. Its rise to prominence is due to some of the unique characteristics. The first unique quality comes in the nature of the audience. The buzz and vigor which is displayed by the commuters of this medium sets them apart from the others. With an audience, which is always on its feet, DMRC presents target groups in the “excited” mode. Catching the attention of those, that are already alert, can be done with much more convenience and ease.

Another major way in which DMRC advertising can create high impact campaigns for brands is by taking up space at a straight series of metro stations, one after the other. This method is being called “continuous visibility” in the TDI circles. A metro ridership of approximately 27 lakh daily commuters looking at brand display at stations one after the other, creates one of the highest levels of brand retention, thereby increasing its recall value.

DMRC stations, being some of the most well planned transit stations of the country, brands can enjoy the benefits of a clutter-free media. With an average dwell time of four minutes between trains, the DMRC has one of the highest engagement rates in advertising.
