Tehzeeb TV set to take over Urdu-genre TV industry
The channel works by identifying the likes, preferences and choices of the audience, says Maroof Raza, Tehzeeb TV Channel Head
Newly launched TV channel Tehzeeb TV has registered rapid growth in the territory of Urdu genre satellite TV channels.
The channel is emerging as a messiah for this specific niche in India that usually goes overlooked by the big players in the industry. Tehzeeb TV has identified the demand and is offering diverse content. Ranging from lifestyle to devotional programmes, from talk shows to cultural programmes, this channel broadcasts almost all kinds of content to address the need of the Islamic niche.
The requirement of such a satellite TV channel is shown and proven by the exponential growth of this channel, especially in the month of Ramadan. The channel is observing a huge rise in its popularity and viewership in last couple of weeks. “We are receiving thousands of calls in our live call-in programs and are unable to attend many of those due to the limited time slots of the shows. Many viewers have also reported congestion in our phone lines,” the channel told exchange4media. “Last week as well, our channel was added by hundreds of more MSO’s pan-India to their networks observing the increasing demand,” the channel official added.
The growth and performance of the channel is also illustrated by the high followership and engagement that it is enjoying on social media platforms like Facebook. Business Standard, The Week, The Siasat Daily and many more such newspapers and magazines have covered the works of Tehzeeb TV and have published news on the same.
In a tête-à-tête with exchange4media, Maroof Raza, Channel Head for Tehzeeb TV said: “We are motivated by the overwhelming responses of the masses and strive to perform even better in future. We work by identifying the likes, preferences and choices of our audience and delivering the best of it to them. Speaking on the behalf of the whole team at Tehzeeb TV, I thank our ardent viewers for their immense love and support. Our vision is to reach an even bigger audience with continuous delivery of responsible content for all the masses and ultimately become a truly international channel.”
Now available on more than 200 cable networks and major DTH players like Sun Direct and Airtel Digital TV, after being added on a request on Sun Direct and numerous MSOs, the channel is yet to be added on many other networks. Are those networks missing out on a much-needed content for the market of over 25 crore Indians, an otherwise overlooked niche, we wonder. For more updates, be socially connected with us on
