Star Vijay touches 1000 GRPs mark in Tamil GEC: BARC data
This achievement is attributed to the success of second season of Bigg Boss hosted by actor Kamal Haasan
Star Vijay created history by touching 1000 GRPs in Tamil GEC category for the first time. According to BARC India data for week 25, Star Vijay was rated 1014 GRPs in Chennai. This achievement is attributed to the success of second season of Bigg Boss. The show has been a chartbuster in Chennai averaging 10.1 TVR through the week, says the BARC data.
According to the data, the launch episode of season 2 of Bigg Boss telecast on 17 June scored 9.7 TVR while Season 1 of Bigg Boss had scored 5.2 TVR. Thus the growth of Season 2 is nearly 2X over Season 1. The remaining episodes had a growth of over 30 per cent over Season 1 as it scored 6.5 TVR in Week 25. In the first week of the telecast itself Bigg Boss – Season 2 has reached 3.7 Crore viewers across Tamil Nadu. The show has been tracked by 7 crore viewers in Tamil Nadu and 1.5 crore viewers across India, says the press release by Star Vijay.

Bigg Boss Season 2 hosted by actor Kamal Haasan airs on Star Vijay from Monday to Sunday at 9 pm. The Bigg Boss House Haasan had aired an audio launch for the film ‘Vishwaroopam 2’ in episode 15. Mamatha Chari became the first contestant in Season-2 to be evicted from Bigg Boss.
