Sr. Journalist and news anchor Meenakshi Kandwal is set to join NDTV. According to sources close to the development, Kandwal is likely to take on the role of hosting an evening news program, though an official confirmation is still awaited.
Kandwal's potential move to NDTV marks her re-entry into mainstream media after a two-year hiatus, during which she focused on her digital venture, 'News Beatz.' This YouTube channel, launched after her departure from Times Now Navbharat, has allowed her to explore independent journalism and connect with a diverse audience.With a career spanning over a decade, Kandwal has held prominent positions at leading news organizations, including Aaj Tak, where she served as Deputy Editor and hosted popular shows like 'Aaj Subah' and 'Ek Aur Ek Gyarah.' She began her journalism journey by winning the 'Star Anchor Hunt' in 2010, leading to her initial role at Star News (now ABP News).
Throughout her career, Kandwal has been recognized for her incisive reporting on critical national events, such as the India-Pakistan Kartarpur Corridor inauguration, the Indo-China bilateral meeting in Mahabalipuram, the Prayagraj Kumbh Mela, and the demonetization drive, for which her team received the ENBA award.
