After nearly 27 years of dedicated service, veteran journalist and scriptwriter Asad Ur Rahman Kidwai has retired from NDTV.
After joining the organization in the late 1990s, Kidwai became a cornerstone of NDTV's editorial and creative teams, contributing significantly to the channel's evolution
Kidwai's tenure at NDTV was marked by his versatility, having worked across various departments including news and sports. However, he is best remembered for his work on the satirical series 'Gustakhi Maaf' and its English counterpart 'Double Take', where his sharp wit and insightful commentary resonated with audiences.
Hailing from Barabanki district in Uttar Pradesh, Kidwai's command over Hindi, English, and Urdu, combined with his Nawabi grace, made him a beloved figure in the newsroom. Colleagues recall his unique ability to blend humor with incisive journalism, often lightening the newsroom atmosphere with his well-timed jokes.
As Kidwai steps away from his professional role, his legacy continues to inspire, reflecting a career dedicated to thoughtful storytelling and journalistic integrity.
