The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) granted six new licenses to Multi-System Operators (MSOs) between April 21, 2022 and July 4, 2022. However, the total number of registered MSOs has declined to 1753 as of July 4, 2022 from 1763 on March 21, 2022.
M/s Infotainment Service & Communications Pvt. Ltd, Softech Infosol Private Limited, Bhumi Cable, Shabkha Taqnia Private Limited, Tribeni Entertainment and Binodan Digital Pvt. Ltd are the new licensees.
Out of these six MSOs, four are company-based, one is proprietorship-based and one is partnership-based firms. The total number of registered MSOs now stands at 1,753.
MIB also granted three provisional registration to Tamil Nadu Arasu Cable TV Corporation Ltd, Godfather Communication Pvt. Ltd and M/s Intermedia Cable Communication Pvt. Ltd.
On the other hand, MIB canceled 12 MSO licenses between April and July 4, 2022. Shivam Cable & Broadband Private Ltd, Rallyon Technology, Panduranga Cable Network , RK Digital Cable TV Network, South Star Digital Network Private Limited, Krishna Cable Network, LD Family Network, Sahya Digital Networks LLP, Surbhi Diginet, Thulasis Technology Private Limited, Sri Laxmi Local Cable TV and Yadav Cable were among the MSOs whose licences were canceled.
The registration of some MSOs, including Ashiana Communication Mcr, Asiant Network Pvt. Ltd, Bhawani Rajesh Cable And Digitech Services Pvt. Ltd, Kailash Cable Network Pvt. Ltd, expired in June 2022.
