Doordarshan serials feature in 'DD Nostalgia' on WAVES OTT

You must have seen the serial 'Flop Show' or 'Byomkesh Bakshi' on Doordarshan. When Jaspal Bhatti's serial Flop Show came on Doordarshan, it made a place in the hearts of the people by making them laugh and in a short time it became the most watched serial on Doordarshan. Similarly, when Byomkesh Bakshi was telecast on Doordarshan in the year 1993, actor KK Raina left such an impression of his acting that people were mesmerized.

During the Corona period, old Doordarshan serials returned once again and created a record of viewership. Seeing this preference of the audience and their love for DD's nostalgic content, Prasar Bharati's OTT platform Waves (WAVES OTT) has launched a special playlist called DD Nostalgia on its platform.

In this special playlist of Waves OTT, serials like Anupam Kher and Pooja Bhatt's 'Daddy', Surekha Sikri and Irrfan Khan's 'Sanjha Chulha', Mukesh Khanna's 'Chunni', Pallavi Joshi and R. Madhavan's 'Aarohan', Shah Rukh Khan's debut serial 'Fauji' and 'Chanakya' are available. The special thing is that no money or subscription fee will be charged on Waves OTT to watch these evergreen serials.

According to the press release issued in this regard, when most OTT platforms are competing to attract the attention of the audience by showing flashy shows and series made in crores of budget, Prasar Bharati's WAVES OTT is walking on a different path. This platform is trying to preserve the memories of the old era, Indian culture and the linguistic and cultural diversity of the country.

Famous Doordarshan serials, rare recordings of Akashvani, documentaries of Films Division and excellent films of NFDC can be watched on WAVES OTT. Along with this, new films and web series like Jaya Bachchan's 'Sadabahar', Pankaj Jha's 'Sarpanch Sahab', Sanjay Mishra's 'Coat' and 'Jaiye Aap Kahan Jayenge', 'Jackson Holton' and 'Kariyatthi' are also winning the hearts of people on Waves.
