BARC Week 34: South: SUN TV bagged the first spot in Tamil GEC Category
In top five program category overall market, Colors Kannada's ‘Lakshmi Baaramma’ continued to lead followed
Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India released the ratings for week 34 for South India GECs. Here are some highlights:
In the Kannada GEC category Colors Kannada claimed the first spot with 449 million impressions followed by Zee Kannada with 401 million impressions. Udaya TV came at the third spot with 215 million impressions followed by Udaya Movies with 214 million impressions. Star Suvarna bagged the fifth spot with 146 million impressions.
In the program category Colors Kannada bagged the first four spots with channel’s ‘Lakshmi Baaramma’ claiming the first spot with 6662 million impressions.
The top player in the Malayalam GEC space, Asianet bagged the first spot with 314 million impressions. Mazhavil Manorama claimed the second spot with 114 million impressions followed by Surya TV with 110 million impressions. Flowers TV came fourth with 73.5 million impressions followed by Asianet Movies with 71.5 million impressions.
Asianet reserved its dominance in the program category with its prime time serials bagging all five spots.
The market leader in Tamil GEC category SUN TV bagged the first spot with 957 million impressions followed by Zee Tamil with 464 million impressions. Star Vijay came third with 448 million impressions. KTV bagged the fourth spot with 302 million impressions followed by Adithya TV with 84.2 million impressions.
Sun TV’s super natural television drama Nandini came back to the first spot after few weeks. Nandini bagged 11.0 million impressions.
Star Maa retained their first spot with 657 million impressions in Telugu GEC category followed by Zee Telugu with 487 million impressions. Gemini TV which was at the second spot last week, climbed one position down to bag the third spot with 486 million impressions. ETV bagged the fourth spot with 465 million impressions. Gemini Movies with 218 million impressions claimed the fifth spot.
Star Maa’s ‘Karthika Deepam’ bagged the first spot in program category with 10.1 million impressions.
