BARC Week 32: Star Plus comes back to lead Hindi GEC urban market

Star Plus regained control over the urban market with 399 million impressions but none of its shows made it to the Top 5 programs

According to BARC data for week 32 (August 5–11), Zee Anmol continued to lead collectively in the Hindi GEC category with 665 million impressions. It was followed by Zee TV with 608 million impressions and Star Plus with 586 million impressions. Zee Anmol’s ‘Jamai Raja’ took the fifth spot in the Top 5 programs overall with 9.1 million impressions.  

 

Zee TV’s three properties, ‘Amul Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champs’ (first) ‘Kundali Bhagya’ (second) and ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ (fourth) continued to remain in the Top 5 programs overall with 10.6 million, 10.4 million and 9.3 million impressions, respectively.

 

Star Plus regained control over the urban market with 399 million impressions after the last week miss while Zee Anmol continued to rule the rural market with 522 million impressions.

 

Urban Market 

 

Star Plus came back to lead the urban market with 399 million impressions, compared to 411 million impressions it had in Week 31.

 

Colors slipped to second spot with 394 million impressions compared to 429 million impressions it had in Week 31. ‘Fear Factor Khatron Ke Khiladi’ and ‘Shakti-Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki’ took second and third position garnering 6.9 million and 6.1 million impressions respectively in the Top 5 Programs (Urban).

 

Zee TV maintained its third spot with 362 million impressions as against the 381 million impressions it garnered the previous week. But its reality show ‘Amul Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champs’ continued to remain the most watched program in this market garnering 7.3 million impressions. Its other popular show ‘Kundali Bhagya’ took the fourth spot with 5.8 million impressions.

 

Sony Entertainment Television retained its fourth position with 293 million impressions as against previous week’s 295 million impressions.

 

Sony SAB retained its fifth spot with improved 291 million impressions as against the 295 million impressions it fetched the previous week. One of its most popular shows ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chasmah’ slipped to fifth spot in the Top 5 Programs with 5.7 million impressions.

Rural Market




 

Zee Anmol continued to lead rural market with 522 million impressions with its popular shows ‘Jamai Raja’ and ‘Kaala Teeka’ fetching first and fifth spot in the Top 5 Programs with 7.2 million and 4.5 million impressions, respectively. ‘Jamai Raja’ took the fifth spot overall with 9.1 million impressions. 

 

Sony Pal moved up to second spot with 398 million impressions with its ‘Baalveer’ and ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chasmah’ taking second and third spot with 5.2 million and 4.8 million impressions, respectively.

 

Rishtey slipped to third spot with 369 million impressions but its most popular property ‘Naagin-Season 2’ was missing from the list. 

 

Zee TV held on to its fourth spot with 245 million impressions with its ‘Kundali Bhagya’ taking the same spot with 4.6 million impressions.

 

Star Utsav also retained its fifth spot with improved 231 million impressions.
