Ajit Thakur resigns from Star India

In a major industry move, Ajit Thakur has resigned from his position as EVP and General Manager, Life OK, and has decided to move on after a three-year stint with Star India. Thakur put in his papers, and is currently serving his notice period which will end in February 2015.
Thakur had joined Star India in August 2011 to head its Hindi GEC Star One, which was later turned into Life OK. He was recently given additional charge of heading Channel V after its General Manager, Prem Kamath, resigned.
Prior to joining Star India, Ajit Thakur headed Sony TV, where he orchestrated a turnaround of the channel. He has also served as CEO of the motion pictures division at Balaji Telefilms.
Life OK celebrated three year’s of its existence on 18th Dec this week .
