 The exchange4media English Journalism 40 Under 40 Awards are back with its fourth edition to honour the most promising young journalists shaping India's English media landscape. 

At the helm of this year’s jury, for the fourth consecutive time, is Sukumar Ranganathan, the widely respected Editor-in-Chief of Hindustan Times. A veteran of analytical journalism and newsroom transformation, he brings deep editorial gravitas and insight to the selection process, reinforcing the awards’ commitment to both rigour and relevance.

Sukumar Ranganathan has long stood as a beacon of editorial integrity. As Editor-in-Chief of one of India’s largest English dailies, he has led Hindustan Times through a critical period of reinvention, blending traditional journalism values with the demands of modern newsrooms. Before HT, he was associated  with the Mint, where he shaped it into a voice of clarity in economic and business journalism.

Since its inception, the e4m English Journalism 40 Under 40 Awards has been a platform to recognise the best emerging talent across print, television, digital and multimedia platforms. It is for reporters who chase difficult truths, editors who shape national conversations and storytellers who push the boundaries of format and form.

In its past three editions, the awards have honoured nearly 100 professionals whose work has stood out in a hyper-competitive, rapidly evolving media ecosystem.
