Surajit Govinda Baruah, director of the Assam Tribune group, passed away on Tuesday. He was 72.

According to information available, he was undergoing treatment at a hospital in Guwahati. He breathed his last around 10: 55 am.

Born on July 8, 1972, Baruah is survived by his mother, his wife, and two daughters. He was the son of Tulsi Govinda Baruah and the grandson of stalwart Radha Govinda Baruah.

According to media reports, Surajit Govinda Baruah stepped into significant roles within the organization, serving as a director of Asam Bani Private Limited since December 29, 1995, and of Assam Tribune Private Limited since August 10, 1987.
