The District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Jaipur II, has reportedly sent notices to Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn and Tiger Shroff, along with Vimal Pan Masala manufacturers, JB Industries, over a “misleading ad.”

The notices have been issued based on a complaint by Yogendra Singh Badiyal, a Jaipur-based social activist and advocate.

Badiyal pointed out that the ad featuring three Bollywood actors claims the pan masala contains saffron. With saffron priced at around Rs 4 lakh per kilo and a gutkha packet costing just Rs 5, he argued that it’s unlikely the product even has a saffron fragrance, let alone actual saffron.

He alleged that the advertisement is misleading as it convinces customers that there is real saffron in the product. The activist-cum-advocate also came down heavily on the pan masala manufacturers, saying that the company makes crores while the common man gets harmful diseases like cancer.

The actors and JB Industries chairman have been asked to respond to the notice, according to news reports.
