The Maha Kumbh Mela, taking place from January 13 to February 26, 2025, in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, is anticipated to attract approximately 400 million devotees, marking it as one of the world's largest religious gatherings. This sacred event offers brands a chance to engage with a vast audience, showcasing their commitment to innovation, sustainability, and enhancing the pilgrim experience.

Here’s how leading brands are redefining consumer engagement during Maha Kumbh 2025:

Coca-Cola India

Through the 'Maidan Saaf' campaign, Coca-Cola India is distributing 21,500 recycled PET jackets to sanitation workers and boatmen. The brand has installed 1,000 women's changing rooms made from recycled plastic along the 12 km stretch of the river ghats, promoting sustainability and hygiene.

Eveready Lighting

Eveready has illuminated the Mela grounds by installing 13,000 LED lights, including streetlights and floodlights, ensuring a safe and vibrant environment for attendees.

Relaxo Footwears

Offering comfortable and durable footwear through its brands — Bahamas, Flite, and Sparx — Relaxo has set up kiosks throughout the Mela grounds to cater to the needs of pilgrims.

ITC's Bingo! and Mangaldeep

ITC's FMCG brands have launched experiential initiatives at the Maha Kumbh. Bingo! engages attendees with reels on local flavors, while Mangaldeep enhances the devotional experience with rituals and bhajans.

Eno

ENO is addressing acidity and indigestion at the Maha Kumbh with a 20-foot installation near the food zone and interactive brand stalls. It is also distributing samples and engaging with travelers at 100+ dhabas along highways to ensure relief throughout their journey.

Iodex

Iodex has set up massage shivers, a holographic pain management expert, and a VR cricket game to address physical strain during the Maha Kumbh. Strategic branding at police booths and tent poles guides pilgrims while promoting fast-acting relief.

Sensodyne

Sensodyne is offering its 20gm pack at an affordable price during the Maha Kumbh and conducting ‘chill tests’ with 200+ promoters to help attendees identify tooth sensitivity issues early. This initiative aims to create awareness about oral health and encourage timely care among pilgrims.

Paytm

Paytm is facilitating digital transactions for pilgrims and merchants, ensuring a seamless and secure payment experience throughout the Mela.

Dettol

Continuing its association since 2016, Dettol is providing soaps and hygiene support at the Mela, distributing sanitisation kits to ensure a healthier environment for devotees.

Campa Ashram (Reliance Consumer Products)

Reliance Consumer Products has introduced Campa Ashram, a network of resting spaces providing comfort and relaxation to pilgrims as they embark on their spiritual journey.

IIFL Foundation

The IIFL Foundation has deployed 15 ambulances across key locations at the Mela to provide emergency medical support, ensuring healthcare access for devotees.

Park+

The auto-tech app Park+ has launched Prayagraj’s first AI-powered smart parking system to reduce vehicle chaos and provide a streamlined parking experience for attendees.

These brands have shown how cultural and religious events can serve as a canvas for innovation, sustainability, and enhanced consumer engagement. As millions prepare for the Maha Kumbh 2025, these initiatives reflect the remarkable synergy between tradition and modernity.
