BookMyShow increased its advertising and promotional expenditure by over 21 percent in FY25, supported by a sharp rebound in revenue and profitability, according to the company’s latest financial statements.

Advertising and promotional expenses rose to Rs 95.61 crore in FY25 from Rs 78.97 crore in FY24, reflecting higher marketing investment amid a strong recovery in live events, cinema and experiential entertainment.

The ticketing and entertainment platform reported revenue from operations of Rs 1,831.43 crore in FY25, up 31.1 percent from Rs 1,396.86 crore in the previous financial year. Total income stood at Rs 1,869.35 crore, compared with Rs 1,429.92 crore in FY24, marking a year-on-year growth of 30.7 percent.

Total expenses increased 29.1 percent to Rs 1,703.66 crore in FY25 from Rs 1,319.66 crore a year earlier, largely in line with revenue growth.

Profit before tax rose sharply by 50.3 percent to Rs 165.69 crore in FY25, compared with Rs 110.26 crore in FY24. Net profit for the year surged 77.1 percent to Rs 192.37 crore, up from Rs 108.63 crore in the previous year.

The strong financial performance was supported by a packed calendar of large-scale live events and international concerts during the year. BookMyShow ticketed and promoted several marquee shows in FY25, including concerts by global acts such as Coldplay and Maroon 5, highlighting India’s growing appetite for premium live entertainment and stadium-led experiences.

The surge in high-value concerts and experiential events helped boost both ticketing volumes and ancillary revenues, reinforcing BookMyShow’s position as a key beneficiary of India’s post-pandemic live events boom.
