The event will also witness an all-day India PR & Corporate Communications Conference 2018. The topic for the first session of the conference is ‘Innovation a key to achieve PR success. How AI is redefining the marketing and Communication industry’. The topic will elaborate on how brand communication has evolved from mainstream traditional PR tactics to comprehensive communication approach, encompassing the art of storytelling through digital, social, traditional communication and marketing techniques. Simultaneously AI is the next big data analytics so will the PR industry sit on the side-lines or be part of the revolution? How does AI tool simplify the work process and how it helps in value creations? Is Machine learning as efficient as human interface or PR still needs human intelligence in brand management?
To answer the above questions will be our esteemed speakers John Bailey, Partner, Managing Director- Ketchum Singapore; Vikram Chandra, Founder Editor Ji Technologies; and Dilip Cherian, Consulting Partner, Perfect Relations.
John Bailey launched Ketchum Singapore (then known as ICON) in May 2005 and offers an unrivalled breadth of international experience, having worked in more than 50 countries in a 32-year career as a Public Relations practitioner and journalist. He led ICON’s development into the largest locally-owned PR agency in Singapore before it was acquired by Ketchum in November 2013.
Bailey moved to Singapore from Geneva, Switzerland, where he created the successful IATA Crisis Communications consultancy service for the International Air Transport Association. He is responsible for overseeing Ketchum’s operations in Singapore and provides crisis management and crisis communication consultancy services to clients across the region, and globally, including airlines, hotel groups and major multinationals involved in logistics, manufacturing and financial services. He also continues to work with IATA on defining “best practice” in crisis communications in the digital age for the global aviation industry.
Vikram Chandra is the founder of Editorji Technologies - a start-up that will seek to transform video news through innovation in user experience, using artificial intelligence. He is one of India's best known TV anchors, presenting shows like ‘The Big Fight’ and ‘Gadget Guru’, together with programmes for social transformation such as the Cleanathon and ‘Save our Tigers’.
Chandra was earlier the CEO of the NDTV Group, and the person who steered NDTV Convergence from launch to becoming one of India’s leading digital destinations. Along the way, he helped pioneer innovations such as news on mobile phones, the live streaming of video on the internet and the first major news app in India.
Chandra has been named ‘Global Leader for Tomorrow’ by the World Economic Forum in Davos; and has won the Indian Television Academy Award for ‘Best Anchor for a Talk Show’, the Hero Honda Award for Best Anchorperson and the Teacher's Achievement Award for Communication, along with featuring in the top 20 on the Impact list of the Digital Power 100. He was educated at the Oxford University and St Stephen’s College, before attending the Mass Media Institute at Stanford University.
Dilip Cherian started Perfect Relations in the early nineties. It has a list of clients, which includes BBC World, Moser Baer, Ashok Leyland, Hindustan Motors, Electrolux Kelvinator, Reebok and London Stock Exchange. Apart from being a dominant player in the corporate arena, Perfect Relations has also been handling State governments, helping them in improving their image and in communicating their objectives to the masses.
Cherian was the editor of the business magazine, Business India and the Observer before he entered the communications business. He is the Governing Board Member of the India China Economic & Cultural Council, and a member on the Governing Council of the National Institute of Design. He has also been a member of the Censor Board.
