Burgundy Brand Collective (BBCO) has acquired Le Mill, one of India’s most influential and enduring voices in luxury fashion.
Founded by two French entrepreneurs Cecilia Morelli and Julie Leymarie, Le Mill was created from a shared vision for their adopted city, to build a space that reflects Mumbai’s energy and global outlook. A space where Indian design exists in dialogue with iconic international houses, and where a distinct point of view shapes every interaction with fashion.
Over the last 15 years, Le Mill has played a defining role in shaping the luxury landscape in India. At a time when the market was still nascent, it introduced a more personal, highly edited approach to retail—built on close relationships with global designers and a deeply engaged client base. It has served as the first platform in India for brands such as Saint Laurent, Loewe, and Chloé, while also pioneering early formats of WhatsApp and home shopping, long before they became industry-wide norms.
With this acquisition, Cecilia Morelli and Julie Leymarie pass the torch to BBCO, marking the beginning of a new phase for the business.
“Julie and I have nurtured Le Mill over the last 15 years, and in the image of India itself, the brand has gone from strength to strength. We are excited today to pass the care of this brand on to BBCo, so it can benefit from the company's larger ecosystem and expand into new cities” said Cecilia Morelli, Co-Founder, Le Mill.
BBCO assumes ownership and operational control, while the founders will remain closely involved at a strategic level. Julie will continue to lead buying and brand relationships, ensuring continuity in the voice and direction that has defined Le Mill since its inception.
“Le Mill holds a very distinct place in the market—not just for what it presents, but for how it interprets and shapes the luxury landscape in India. What it represents is difficult to create and easy to lose. Our focus is to protect that position, while building a structure that allows it to strengthen and extend its influence over time,” said Samir Gadhok, Director, Burgundy Brand Collective.
“We see Le Mill as something far more enduring than a retail format. The opportunity is to nurture what already exists—its point of view, its relationships and its community—while thoughtfully extending its relevance over time,” said Avani Raheja, Director, Burgundy Brand Collective.
“We have always built Le Mill with a certain intent and sensitivity. This next chapter allows us to continue doing that, with a partner who understands the nuance,” said Julie Leymarie, Co-Founder, Le Mill.
Le Mill’s ever-growing brand portfolio includes iconic international labels such as Alaïa, Chloé, Jacquemus, Loewe and Zimmermann, among others, alongside homegrown names including Pero, Phantom Hands, Estaa and The PDKF Store, with a continued emphasis on introducing new brands to the Indian market.
Le Mill will continue to operate from Mumbai with the same team and client focus, and a clear emphasis on deepening its relationships with both brands and clients.
The acquisition brings Le Mill into a framework that supports its next phase, while retaining the perspective and relationships that have defined it.
