The Indian Broadcasting and Digital Foundation (IBDF), in collaboration with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB), announced the winners of the IBDF WAVES Promo Video Challenge at the World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025. The challenge was conceived as a unique platform to discover powerful and inspiring audiovisual content that captures the spirit and vision of WAVES 2025.

The winners were felicitated during WAVES 2025, a flagship initiative of the Government of India, held from 1–4 May 2025 at the Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai. Anupam Kher along with the Minister of State for Information & Broadcasting, Shri L. Murugan presented the awards to the Winners of the Promo Video Challenge.  

The challenge, part of the broader promotional campaign for WAVES 2025, invited entries from creatives across India to submit short video promos that celebrate India’s dynamic media and entertainment landscape. Inaugurated by Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi, WAVES 2025 is India's first-of-its-kind summit spotlighting the global potential of its audio-visual, film, broadcasting, and digital media sectors — a true celebration of tradition, creativity, culture, and talent from the land of a billion stories.

Selected from a large pool of high-quality entries, the three winners distinguished themselves through a rare blend of originality, technical excellence, and thematic depth that resonated with the core spirit of WAVES 2025. Vinay Prakash Asopa’s narrative - driven concept elegantly interwove themes of creativity, diversity, and ambition; Neerja Mahajan’s promo stood out for its editorial sharpness and visual storytelling; while Rajveer Sapru’s high-energy cinematic piece fused nostalgia with a forward-looking vision of India’s M&E sector. Each entry reflected professional finesse in editing, design, and scripting, while powerfully aligning with WAVES’ goal of showcasing India as a global creative powerhouse. Beyond promoting an event, these videos emotionally and intellectually engaged viewers, transforming into compelling calls to action for India’s creative future.

Sanjay Jaju, Secretary, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, remarked: “WAVES 2025 represents a bold vision to project India’s media and entertainment sector onto the global stage. The Promo Video Challenge has sparked incredible creative responses and amplified our core message of innovation, inclusion, and imagination.
