There are very few events in the digital ecosystem that people genuinely wait for every year. The Digital Premier League is one of them. What began as a simple idea to bring the industry together through cricket has today become a much-anticipated tradition, and as DPL enters its ninth season, Vertoz steps in as the Title Partner for the Mumbai edition.
Hosted exclusively in Mumbai, the ninth season of the Digital Premier League promises to be bigger, sharper, and more competitive than ever before. This season will see 24 teams, 24 owners and 24 captains come together from across the digital fraternity, including brands, agencies, publishers and networks. The format mirrors the excitement of the IPL, complete with a high-energy auction, practice matches and a full-day final tournament.
The official player auction is scheduled for 31st January, where teams will be formed through a bidding process, followed by practice matches leading up to the main event on 7th February. The final match day will be an all-day celebration of sport, networking and community, bringing together professionals who usually meet across boardrooms, campaign decks and pitch meetings, now meeting on the cricket field.
What truly sets DPL apart is its leadership on the field. Every team is captained by a woman from the digital industry, a tradition that has remained central to the league’s identity over the years. It’s not symbolic participation, but real leadership, competitiveness and visibility, something the league has championed since its early seasons.
Over the years, the Digital Premier League has successfully completed eight seasons, with nearly 250 participants taking part each season. It has grown organically into a platform where competition blends seamlessly with camaraderie. The league’s core spirit remains simple: unwind, play, enjoy and bond.
For Vertoz, partnering with DPL as the Title Partner feels like a natural extension of its culture. As a company deeply embedded in the digital ecosystem, Vertoz sees value beyond logos and visibility. The partnership is rooted in shared values of collaboration, community-building and creating spaces where the industry can come together in a meaningful, human way.
Speaking about the association, Gaurav Modi, Vice President, Vertoz said,“Digital Premier League is more than just a cricket tournament. It reflects the energy, diversity and passion of the digital industry. At Vertoz, we strongly believe that real relationships are built beyond screens and meetings. Becoming the Title Partner for DPL Season 9 allows us to support a platform that brings people together, celebrates women leadership, and strengthens the sense of community within Mumbai’s digital ecosystem.”
Registrations and participation are open to professionals from brands, agencies, publishers and digital networks who want to be part of a day that blends sport, networking and pure fun. From the buzz of the auction room to the thrill of match day, the Digital Premier League continues to prove that the digital industry knows how to compete hard and celebrate harder.
Season 9 of the Digital Premier League is not just about winning trophies. It’s about showing up, playing together and strengthening bonds that go beyond work. And with Vertoz as the Title Partner, this season is set to be one of the most memorable yet.
