The Times Network is hosting the two-day Times Now Summit 2026 in New Delhi on 26 and 27 March. The event has brought together prominent leaders, industrialists and policymakers from India and abroad. This year’s theme is “Celebrating Times Now @ 20, Shaping India @ 100.”

At the opening session, Vineet Jain, Managing Director of Times Group, presented his vision for India’s future. He said that for India to become a developed nation by 2047, it must focus not only on economic growth but also on self-reliance, strong institutions and long-term thinking.

Highlighting the importance of self-reliance, he described Atmanirbhar Bharat as a crucial strategy for the future. According to him, self-reliance does not mean isolation, but strengthening India’s position to play a decisive role globally.

Jain identified several key sectors where India must build self-reliance, including artificial intelligence, data, education, defence, energy, critical minerals and digital platforms. He stressed that countries leading in these areas will shape the future.

Jain also pointed out that India has a limited window of opportunity and must act decisively. Leveraging its young population, he said, the country needs to enhance employment, skills and productivity to build a strong socio-economic framework.

Concluding his remarks, he said the Times Now Summit is not only a platform to celebrate achievements but also to define the path ahead. He added that the government, industry and society must work together to drive India’s progress.
