A meeting of Kashmir Editors Guild (KEG) held on January 8, 2013 deliberated upon different issues facing the Kashmir media industry and print media in particular. It was felt that there was an urgent need to activate and strengthen the Guild.

The editors took a number of decisions, which included reviewing the Guild Constitution and seeking suggestions for making necessary amendments in it.
The editors also set in motion the process of elections for the Guild, which will be held within one month.

Members unanimously nominated Ghulam Jeelani Qadri, Editor-in-Chief of Daily Aafaq, as ad-hoc organiser. He was tasked with mobilising other members of the community.

Those present at the meeting included, Qadri; Abdul Rasheed Shah, Editor, Nida-e-Mashriq; Sajjad Haider, Editor, Kashmir Observer; Tahir Mohiudin, Editor, Chattan; Manzoor Anjum, Editor, Uqab; and Shafat Kira, Editor, Kashmir Vision, among others.
