2013 Young Ones Competition announced

The One Club has announced the 2013 Young Ones Competition for advertising, interactive and design students. Winners of the Gold, Silver and Bronze Pencils will be awarded cash prizes as well as inclusion in the One Show Annual, a comprehensive compendium of today’s most creative advertising.

Established in 1996, this year’s college competition offers students a choice of two briefs aimed at creating solutions for social change. The first, Pencils of Promise, gives students the opportunity to shed light on the global education crisis affecting millions of students across the globe.

The second, Justice by Design, provides students with the opportunity to tackle human rights issues by using design to communicate data for the sake of social justice.

All submissions are due by March 15, 2013.

“Winning the Young Ones Competition gives students solid credibility in a hyper-competitive world,” said Emily Grotheer, Education Director of The One Club. “In today’s job market, graduating students must find new ways to distinguish themselves, especially in such sought-after fields like advertising and design. Young Ones provides recognition, exposure and access to industry leaders in a time when a degree alone is no longer enough.”

Past winners have secured internships and full-time positions at some of the most highly regarded advertising and design agencies in the industry.

The Young Ones Competition is judged by leaders of creative advertising and design. The competition will be judged in New York City in April.
