Sun TV Network will invest Rs 150 crore on its OTT platform Sun NXT over the next 18 months.

This has been said by Group Chief Financial Officer SL Narayanan during Q1 earnings conference call, according to media reports.

Narayanan reportedly said the company has started making money from its OTT platform and now they want to invest back into the platform for original content targeting the youth.

"The strategy is to position something unique to the south Indian audience. We have great understanding on what would sell among the youth in this region," Narayanan has been quoted by reports as saying.

It would not be big-budget programmes or with high expenses, but more of short format content that could be consumed on mobile or smaller screens on the go, he reportedly said.
