SAS, the leader in business intelligence, has been ranked 7th in the first-ever Vendor Value Study by CIO Insight magazine, a Ziff Davis publication. Nearly 1,300 senior IT executives and Chief Information Officers ranked SAS 7th in the combined Vendor Value and Vendor Reliability categories. SAS was the only business intelligence software vendor to make the top ten in this research study.
SAS had an overall score of 71.2 per cent and was ranked 7th out of 41 major technology product and service vendors in the Vendor Value Study. The highest score was 83.1 per cent, and the lowest was 45.4 per cent. SAS also ranked similarly in the Vendor Reliability section with a score of 73.3 per cent. The highest score in this category was 82.3 per cent.
Insight asked IT executives and CIOs to rate vendors for overall business value, reliability and customer service, as well as the support they received from those relationships. The questions asked were whether these relationships met expectations for increasing rate on investment (ROI), increasing revenues and lowering costs; solved the business problem they were paid to solve; met commitments on time and budget; met expectations for quality; and were flexible and responsive.
"SAS works hard to deliver what our customers want and to exceed their expectations by building strong customer relationships, and this survey validates that we are doing that better than any of our competitors. Our goal is to make our customers successful," says Jim Davis, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at SAS. "The CIO Insight study will help all CIOs see how their peers view the business value and reliability of SAS as a leading provider of business intelligence software. We are pleased to be ranked so highly among some of the most recognized organizations in the world, and we consider it a major accomplishment to be the only business intelligence vendor to make the top ten," Davis adds.
Vivek Gokarn, MD & CEO, SAS in India states, "The CIO Insight survey echoes the sentiments of our Indian customers. India is an important market for us in the Asia Pacific region. The global CIO rating for SAS as the most trusted vendor for business intelligence solutions further reinforces the business value and dependability of SAS in the minds of Indian customers and prospects."
