Facebook’s new tool gives users option to wipe app and website history
The off-Facebook activity tool will change the number of targeted ads that users see
Facebook has launched its ‘ off-Facebook activity’ feature more than a year after it was first promised by CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
In a blog post, Facebook said, “we’re introducing a new way to view and control your off-Facebook activity. Off-Facebook Activity lets you see a summary of the apps and websites that send us information about your activity, and clear this information from your account if you want to. This is another way to give people more transparency and control on Facebook, along with recent updates to our Ad Library, updates to “Why am I seeing this ad?” and the launch of a new feature called “Why am I seeing this post?”.”
The company said that it is adding a section where you can see the activity that Facebook tracks outside its service via its "like" buttons and other means. You can choose to turn off the tracking; otherwise, tracking will continue the same way it has been.
It is initially being rolled out in Ireland, Spain and South Korea, to be followed by a worldwide launch “over the coming months”.For more updates, be socially connected with us on
