BBC.com sees record figures in India

Whilst Ipsos survey names BBC as APAC’s fastest growing international news brand

BBC sites have recorded its best-ever figures in India, according to Comscore– a trusted industry currency for planning, transacting and evaluating media across platforms.

In February 2019, BBC sites reached a record 19.5 million unique viewers and had its highest ever number of monthly total views, at 88.4 million – seven times CNN Network.

The BBC has also been named the fastest growing international news brand in APAC by the latest Ipsos survey of affluent audiences, having grown 6.8% year-on-year2. Its international news channel, BBC World News was the fastest growing international news channel3.

The research also revealed that the BBC is APAC’s number one international news brand for a range of affluent groups including C level executives, high income individuals, and amongst premium travel audiences including affluent frequent business travellers, affluent frequent leisure travellers, frequent hotel guests for business, high spending travellers, big spenders on hotels and big spenders on airline tickets4.

In India, it is the top international news brand for influential opinion leaders, affluent frequent international travellers and affluent people with high liquidity
