Amit Papney has joined Rajasthan Patrika as Digital Head-North after ending his innings with ZeeUnimedia Ltd. – DNA Mumbai where he stayed for less than a year as Deputy Vice President – Sales.
Papney has over 20 years of experience in media marketing, space selling, tie-ups & brand promotion for Digital Media & Print Media (News Papers & Magazine), Events & Radio.
At ZeeUnimedia Ltd., which he joined in July 2017, Papney headed key categories including Education,Travel, Infrastructure,Consumer Durables for DNA - Daily News & Analysis English Broad sheet daily Newspaper. In addition to this handled the Integration for Zee Digital/Zee Business & all non traditional/special revenue initiatives.
As an entrepreneur, Papney co-founded Kampuzz.com which is an education portal with details of 26,000 college/universities in India and over 5000 colleges abroad. Apart from that it has free mock tests, last five years question paper and latest news in education sector.
At Kampuzz.com, he headed business development, Sales promotions and Branding. Earlier, Papney was associated with Neutral Publishing House Ltd- Prabhat Khabar where he worked for over a decade as General Manager-North between 2004 and 2014.
At Prabhat Khabar, Papney had the overall responsibilities of North India Market where he handled Corporate, Government DAVP, PSU, Educational Clients & Advertising Agency/client personnel at brand management, media planning, operation and buying levels, Ensuring profitability of all transactions and buying, operations develop relationships with clients and advertising agency.
He has also worked with Oberoi Multimedia Ltd as Branch Head– Business Development; between 2002-03 Papney was Senior Manager at Hari Bhumi Group of Publications, Delhi.
Papney also holds experience of working with Dainik Jagran Ltd between 1997 – 2002 as Manager where he was heading their Delhi Edition and published various supplements on Education, Automobiles, Health, SME, Property. He also successfully launched “NAV JAGRAN” a tabloid newspaper catering to Retail segment.
His vast experience also includes working as a Sales Executive with India Today Group between 1996-97.
