The Future of The Finance Office: BW Businessworld’s CFO offsite in Amritsar

It is known that roles across functions and leaders have changed over the past couple of decades. Whether it is because of changing consumer preferences, rapidly moving technology or changing compliances, every single function is constantly evolving for at least the past decade. However, one function where BW Businessworld have seen seismic shifts is that of finance professionals.

Ever since the pandemic, this function that focused on accounting and compliance and then moved to funding got involved with every function across their organization – they were already getting actively involved with technology and sustainability, but the lockdown got them involved with more – from supply chain to production to revenue to HR et al. The CFO at least was actively involved with every function to ensure predictability in the numbers. In BW Businessworld’s recent interactions with CFOs, they were told that whilst the role has changed it has become critical for them to restructure their departments and ensure that the department is staffed with people who understand and can work alongside these functions, some at a macro level and some in a much more involved manner. Keeping this in mind, BW Businessworld is doing an offsite event titled, The Future of The Finance Office for CFOs at Amritsar in mid-November.

BW Businessworld is a media house focused on creating and delivering content that enables functions, industries and ecosystems. Besides its regular digital, print and custom offerings, they also do about 200 events per year. They have however planned to do this event for CFOs in a different format. Keeping in mind that most CFOs are now CEOs-in-waiting and the best inputs for such a conference can only come from the leaders attending this conference themselves, BW Businessworld has planned to do very few stage led sessions and most sessions will be done in a manner that all CFOs are engaged in every such session through the day making this one of the most engaging conferences done until now.

To keep it interactive, there will be only 80 finance leaders in the room so that each of them will get a chance to participate. These 80 leaders are all from large organizations that a minimum annual revenue of Rs. 2000/ Crores – some of the confirmed leaders have an annual revenue of Rs. 10,000/ crores and some much higher than this. This also makes the conference unique in a manner that the room has a decision making and / or influencing capacity of at least Rs. 150,000/ Crores for purchases making it a very attractive proposition for sponsors too.
