OMG’s PHD to take over Diageo account from July

In a global shift, the account has moved from GroupM's Mindshare to PHD after a long competitive pitch process

Come July and spirits major Diageo will move its account from GroupM’s Mindshare to OMG’s PHD that won the account globally in March this year.
Confirming the move to exchange4media, Julie Bramham, Chief Marketing Officer, Diageo India, said, “Post a closely contested global media pitch, we are delighted to appoint Omnicom Media Group's (OMG) PHD as the media agency of record for Diageo India. The move encompasses both planning and buying and draws on top talent and leadership from across . I speak for the entire team at Diageo India when I say that it has been an absolute delight to have worked with Mindshare India and thank their brilliant team for having been strong and knowledgeable partners to our business till date.”
PHD won the mandate after a competitive global pitch that last a few months. Commenting on the move, a PHD India Spokesperson said building on the global consolidation of Diageo’s media duties, the PHD India team effectively demonstrated the full strength of the network’s capabilities to unlock growth by driving stronger and closer consumer connections across their entire portfolio of iconic local and international brands.
While the account size globally is estimated to be upwards of $2 billion, the account size for the India account is pegged at over Rs 300 crore.
Diageo is a global leader in beverage alcohol. Some of its popular brands are Johnnie Walker, Crown Royal, J&B, Buchanan's and Windsor whiskies, Smirnoff, Cîroc and Ketel One vodkas, Captain Morgan, Baileys, Don Julio, Tanqueray and Guinness.
