Meet Rajul Kulshreshtha, the new CEO of Madison Media Plus

Last year, Kulshreshtha had announced the second leg of his entrepreneurial journey with The Consilium

While official announcements are still about a week away, word is out that Rajul Kulshreshtha is the newly appointed CEO of Madison Media Plus, one of the business units of Vikram Sakhuja-led Madison Media Group. 

Kulshreshtha is not a new name in the industry. He has handled various profiles across companies in the sector to take over this new role at Madison World.

It was only last year when Kulshreshtha announced the second leg of his entrepreneurial journey with his company The Consilium. 

The Consilium happened after Kulshreshtha spent close to six year consulting for Orange Plus Media Solutions. Under Kulshreshtha’s guidance, the business grew to a top line of almost Rs 200 crore. 

At the launch of The Consilium, Kulshreshtha had said the industry was bound to take a turn for the better. He said the turn would be one in which intellect and talent would play a major role and that he wanted to be there when it happened.

“The Consilium is strictly speaking not an agency in the traditional sense. It is an advisory service that looks at marketing from a media perspective and not so much as media from a marketing perspective,” he had said.

Before The Consilium, Kulshreshtha had launched another initiative under the name of Xposure, a Delhi-based media planning and buying agency started in 2013 with the aim of propagating an environment where the brand stands paramount.

Before his entrepreneurial gigs, Kulshreshtha served as Managing Director, India, at Kinetic Worldwide. He had taken up the position in 2010 and continued till 2012. 

Kulshreshtha has also had a long stint with Group M. In June 2006, he was elevated as Managing Director for Motivator. He spearheaded Motivator’s pan-India role for five years. Prior to that, in May 2004, he was General Manager with GroupM’s Team LG. As the head of Team LG, Kulshreshtha played a key role in building the operations. 

Kulshreshtha’s profile also comes with work experiences in agencies like Universal McCann and ZenithOptimedia.
