Software giant Infosys has announced that Nilanjan Roy, a former executive of Bharti Airtel, has been appointed as their new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), according to media reports. The appointment will be effective March 1, 2019.

A statement from Infosys reportedly said, "The Board of Directors has appointed Nilanjan Roy as CFO of the company, effective March 1, 2019.”

Roy will take over from interim CFO Jayesh Sanghrajka, who will resume his responsibilities as Deputy CFO.

Commenting on the appointment, Infosys Chief Executive Officer Salil Parkeh has been quoted as saying, "Roy comes to us with rich global experience. We express our appreciation to Sanghrajka for taking charge as interim CFO and thank him for ably executing the responsibility."

Roy had been associated with Airtel for 13 years. Prior to Airtel, he worked with global FMCG major Unilever.

Airtel, meanwhile, has announced that it has accepted Roy’s resignation and appointed Badal Bagri as its CFO.
