Alex Schultz is Facebook's new Global CMO
Former VP of Product Growth, Analytics & i18n at Facebook, Schultz has been promoted to fill the CMO post left vacant after Antonio Lucio's departure last month
After Antonio Lucio's departure, Facebook has elevated its VP of Product Growth, Analytics & i18n, Alex Schultz as its Global Chief Marketing Officer. Lucio quit from his post last month to dedicate his time for diversity, inclusivity and equity.
Schultz took to Facebook to announce the news of his appointment: "I am super proud to be Facebook’s next cmo. Antonio Lucio has left huge shoes and a great team behind and I’m really excited to get stuck in with them." Read the full post here:
He wrote that he aims to build on his experience in segmentation, targeting and measurement "to reach people more meaningfully."
Schultz graduated from the University of Cambridge with an MSc in Natural Sciences and Experimental & Theoretical Physics. He began his career as Marketing Manager for Ebay in 2004.
He joined Facebook in 2007 as an analyst, rising through the ranks to become the VP of Product Growth and Analytics in 2014.
