When I came to Mumbai in August last year, I was clueless as to what exactly am I looking for from life, not that the situation is immensely better now, but I at least know where am I heading.
For a while, I thought whether I really fitted in this media industry or not. Now that I think of it I’m reminded of what one of my friends had told me, “Media is addictive my dear, even if you try you cannot move away”. It didn’t make much sense to me then, but now when I have been a part of this trade for a while, all of it sounds sagacious.
A world, which was absolutely unexplored for me 10 months back, is now a vital part of my day to day life. Meeting and dealing with creativity everyday is such an unexplainable high. It’s an experience in itself to be dealing with people who eat, pray and drink ingenious work. It’s a different kind of world that these people subsist in. An inbuilt respect comes into one’s mind when we meet and interact with people like Pops, Sumanto Chattopadhyay, Prasoon Joshi and many more.
The rains seem to be settled and so does a part of the broadcast beat assigned to me, though the impish thought of getting our salaries without having to go to work still remains in my depraved mind!
Well, the past week, if I were to mention, was not very eventful in terms of launches or work other than the launch of Vodafone Blue, a cell phone created by Vodafone in collaboration with Facebook.
Though in terms of ‘non-work’ bit, ‘Delhi’ has caught the attention of everyone; initially it was for fine reasons with Anna Hazare’s fight against corruption, and some two days back for distressing reasons, which were the bomb blast outside the Delhi High Court, followed by an earthquake at night. The saddest part about all this is that all of us only keep on hoping for such terrorist acts to stop, wish we did something about it…
