Reporter’s Diary: Living a dream!

Have you ever felt your life to be such where you actually start hoping for it to not be a dream and end very soon? Well, that’s what I have been feeling after joining exchange4media. The past week, though, has been all the more special with the first breaking news coming my way and making it soar unquestionably high. In fact, it took me a while to understand how big and important that news was and that ‘breaking news’ ought to be one of the integral parts of my life henceforth.

Now that I recall, the week has actually been quite eventful and no wonder I have no clue when it moved from Monday to Saturday. My Monday started with an interview with Abraham Alapatt, Head - Brand and Corporate Communications at Future Generali, which turned out to be an astute experience for me.

Reporting on the GoAir creative business being bagged by EBS before anyone could was another elevation for me. Trust me, being a reporter, you have the news and you are caught up in traffic, there will definitely be a point where you’ll feel like jumping out of the rickshaw and start running no matter how far the office is (funny when I actually picture how I would look doing that).

I also went for the first ever 3D campaign launch for the Audi A8L. Apart from finding the concept fairly new and innovative, the thought that was crossing my mind over and over again was ‘how do I get that car to be mine?’(giggles)

Not to forget, the Aditya Birla Group party that happened last Friday, where I met the likes of Ajay Kakar, Chief Marketing Office - Aditya Birla Financial Services; Tista Sen, Senior Vice president & ECD, JWT; R Gowthaman (G’Man), Leader, Mindshare, South Asia; and Tarun Chauhan, Senior VP & Managing Partner, JWT, was a wonderful exposure for someone like me, who is still like a baby learning to walk on this very uneven, but super exciting path of journalism.

All in all a wonderful week, which actually has created an ultimate excitement in me to see what the future beholds. (Keeping fingers crossed)
