Publicis Groupe secures PayPal’s global media account

Following a competitive multi-agency pitch, Publicis Groupe has secured the global media account for PayPal, reports Ad Age. WPP’s GroupM, which previously handled the account, stepped back from the business earlier this year.

GroupM had managed PayPal’s media duties since late 2023. However, reports suggest the agency exited the account as part of a broader shift in focus toward other strategic areas.

By this win, Publicis Groupe has expanded its growing list of global media clients this year, which already includes Mars, Coca-Cola and Paramount.

The change comes as PayPal ramps up its push into advertising through its in-house unit, PayPal Ads.
