Lowe Lintas and Partners have won the creative mandate for Flipkart on the back of a multi-agency pitch. The last round of pitch was between Ogilvy and Mather and Lowe Lintas, confirm industry insiders.
The leading e-commerce player has been in the news this year for all the right reasons, from its announcement in March that it has crossed $1 billion in gross merchandise, a year before the target date of 2015, followed by the announcement of its acquisition of Myntra ( estimated to be over a Rs 2000 crore deal). This was followed by Flipkart’s last announcement of a fresh investment of USD 1 billion. This fresh infusion of funds only further boosts Flipkart’s growing strength in the e-commerce market.
Lowe Lintas also bagged the creative duties for FreeCharge, an online platform for recharge, utility payments, promotions and couponing earlier this month. Some of the other clients that the agency has added to its rooster in the recent past include; Hero Motocorp, Star TV, OLX, Heinz, Bharat Matrimony, Onida, Expedia, BookMyShow, Milma, Coir Board, Bharat Benz, Max Bupa, and Apollo Hospitals.
The account size is estimated to be significantly large given the added investment, and heating up competition in the category from players like Amazon who promptly announced its announcement of $2 billion, a day after Flipkart’s announcement of fresh investment, followed by the growing presence of Snapdeal.
Flipkart has been consistently expanding with a significant presence on television which is only expected to grow, with the onset of the festive season and the burgeoning competition in the e-commerce segment. For more updates, be socially connected with us on
