In bid to control ad spends, BJP to buy media space for Assembly polls

After roping in admen Piyush Pandey and Sam Balsara (Piyush Pandey & Sam Balsara to lend creative muscle to BJP's Assembly poll campaign) to lend creative edge to its poll campaign for the Assembly elections in four states – Maharashtra, Haryana, Jharkhand and Jammu & Kashmir – Bharatiya Janata Party will be buying its own media in order to control its election ad spends.

BJP will buy time and space on various media such as television, print, radio, outdoor and digital directly from the media owners. Meanwhile, the party’s media agency Madison and ad agency Soho Square will continue to work on the BJP account.

Members of BJP’s publicity committee feel that most media owners inflate the ad rates when it comes to political parties, especially during election time. The party wants to be charged regular rates for the media platforms.
