The week that went by was marked by some important developments from the field of advertising and media. Here’s a roundup of all the news. 

Anita Kotwani joined Carat India as CEO. She will be responsible for the agency’s strategic progress and business growth. 

TV9 Network announced the elevation of Vikram K as COO South, while Amit Tripathi joined as Chief Revenue Officer. 

Ex-Yatra.com CMO Mudit Shekhawat announced that he will be starting his own venture. 

Ispita Dasgupta has joined Apple as Country Manager, India - Streaming Services. Earlier, she was with Hotstar. 

IdeateLabs announced the appointment of Porus Jose as Chief Creative Officer. Sajid Dadarkar and Ashwini Vyas have both been appointed as Senior Creative Directors. 

Other big news includes the return of big channels on DD’s Free Dish. Channels like Zee Entertainment, Star India, Sony Pictures Networks India and Viacom18 made a re-entry after pulling out last February. 

Amazon also made inroads into India’s telecom market, say media reports. The tech giant is in an early-stage talk with Bharti Airtel to acquire a 5% stake for $2 billion.
