Umang Vohra, the Managing Director and Global CEO of Cipla, is expected to step down from his role by the end of this fiscal year. According to a report by Livemint, Achin Gupta, currently serving as Cipla’s Global Chief Operating Officer, is the likely successor.
Vohra has held the top role since September 1, 2016, after rising through the ranks from Global Chief Financial and Strategy Officer to Global Chief Operating Officer. It’s still unclear if Vohra will remain with Cipla in a non-operational role after stepping down.
Before joining Cipla, Vohra held leadership roles at companies such as Eicher Motors, PepsiCo, among others.
