  • Shah has over 19 years of experience with Sony, contributing significantly to the growth and strategy of various channels, including Sony MAX and Sony AATH, and leading the first full brand refresh of SPNI.
  • His achievements include transforming Sony AATH into a profitable regional channel and enhancing the profitability and viewership of SPNI's Hindi and English Movies, Regional, FTA, and Infotainment clusters.
  • Gaurav Banerjee, Managing Director & CEO of SPNI, acknowledged Shah's contributions and leadership, while Shah expressed gratitude for his experiences and relationships built during his time at the company. Details of the succession plan will be announced soon.

Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) has shared that Tushar Shah, Chief Marketing Officer & Business Head for Movies, Regional, FTA and Infotainment Channels, will be moving on from the organization after 16-year run.

Counting his earlier stint from 2002 to 2005, Shah has spent over 19 years with Sony. His last working day will be on 31 March 2026, and he will continue to support the transition and handover until then.

With more than 30 years of experience across Revenue, Marketing and Business roles in Print, Telecom and Media, Shah has played a major role in shaping several key portfolios at SPNI. He has led strategy and business growth for channels such as Sony MAX, Sony MAX 2, Sony PAL, Sony WAH, Sony Marathi, Sony AATH, Sony PIX, and Sony BBC Earth.

One of his notable achievements includes steering the transformation of Sony AATH into a consistently profitable regional channel for over a decade. He has also strengthened the Hindi and English Movies, Regional, FTA and Infotainment clusters with a strong emphasis on brand building, profitability and expanding viewership.

Shah also led the complete rebranding of Sony Pictures Networks India’s channel portfolio—SPNI’s first full brand refresh since its inception—marking a major milestone for the network. His leadership has been defined by deep audience insight, strong brand vision, and effective execution across genres.
