According to media reports, Tata Group’s philanthropic arm, Tata Trusts, has decided not to reappoint businessman Mehli Mistry to its board. Mistry served as a trustee on the executive committee of Tata Trusts, which undertakes initiatives in healthcare, education, and rural development.
Mistry joined the Tata Trusts board in 2022, and his three-year tenure concludes on October 28. Reports also suggests that a majority of the board members voted against Mistry’s reappointment following the completion of his five-year term.
Mistry had also been considered as a potential candidate for the chairmanship of Tata Trusts following Ratan Tata, but he had expressed support for Noel Tata’s candidature as the Trust Chairman.
