- Sumit Priyani has been appointed Chief Information Officer (CIO) for Hitachi Digital and the combined Hitachi Digital Services and GlobalLogic organization.
- He brings over 25 years of global leadership experience in technology transformation, cloud modernization, data analytics, artificial intelligence, and cyber resilience.
- Prior to Hitachi, Priyani served as Senior Vice President and CIO at EXL from October 2022 to October 2026 and was a member of the company's Global Leadership Council.
- His previous roles include Vice President and Global Head of Technology at EXL and over a decade at Capgemini, where he led global technology infrastructure and operations.
Sumit Priyani has joined Hitachi as Chief Information Officer (CIO) for Hitachi Digital and the combined Hitachi Digital Services and GlobalLogic organisation.
Priyani brings more than 25 years of global leadership experience, with expertise in technology transformation, cloud modernisation, data and analytics, artificial intelligence, enterprise platforms, governance, compliance, cyber resilience and global technology operations.
His work has focused on aligning technology investments with business priorities, modernising enterprise technology ecosystems and delivering measurable business outcomes.
Prior to joining Hitachi, Priyani served as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer at EXL in the US, a position he held from October 2022 to October 2026. He was also a member of the company's Global Leadership Council.
Before becoming CIO, Priyani served as Vice President and Global Head of Technology at EXL from June 2014 to October 2022. Earlier, he was Vice President – Technology Infrastructure Services and IT Service Management from July 2012 to June 2014.
Priyani previously spent over a decade at Capgemini, formerly iGATE Patni, where he served as Head of Technology from July 2002 to July 2012. In this role, he led global technology infrastructure, operations and service delivery across multiple countries.
