Senior television journalist and news anchor Marya Shakil has officially joined India Today. She hosted the channel’s 10 PM primetime show. Shakil anchored shows including News Epicenter and Reporters Project.
Shakil, who joined the network in August 2023, recently stepped down from her role at NDTV, where she served as Executive Editor (National Affairs) for its English news channel, NDTV 24x7.
With nearly two decades of experience in political journalism, begining in 2005, Shakil previously worked with CNN-News18 for 18 years, where she held senior roles including Senior Political Editor and Special Bureau Chief.
Shakil was honoured with the Ramnath Goenka Excellence in Journalism Award in 2012 for Best Political Journalist in the broadcast category. She was also honoured at the exchange4media News Broadcasting Awards (ENBA). In 2016, she was awarded the Chevening South Asia Journalism Fellowship.
