Sanghamitra Mazumdar, a senior journalist with over two decades of experience across print and digital newsrooms, has stepped down from her role as Editor of ABP Live English, marking the end of a fulfilling four-year stint with the leading news ppublication.
Mazumdar joined ABP Network in 2021 and played a pivotal role in strengthening the editorial voice of the network’s English digital platform. Under her leadership, ABP Live English sharpened its news coverage, expanded its digital footprint, and navigated some of the most dynamic phases in the news cycle — from multiple elections, global events, and health crises to India's evolving media landscape.
Known for her editorial clarity, newsroom strategy, and keen focus on content quality, Mazumdar helped steer the platform through several content transformations. Her tenure also saw stronger newsroom integration between digital and broadcast, streamlined content operations, and a push toward greater engagement and trust in news delivery.
"ABP gave me the space to shape stories, mentor teams, and think beyond the breaking news rush. It was a newsroom that demanded the best of you, and gave you back just as much in learning and purpose," Mazumdar said, reflecting on her journey.
After a career spanning 25 years with key roles at The Indian Express, ThePrint.in, The Statesman, and Hindustan Times, Mazumdar is now set to take on a new editorial leadership role at a globally focused news platform, where she is expected to drive content strategy and innovation at a larger scale.
