R Venkatasubramanian, Chief Operating Officer of Havas Play, has stepped down, e4m has learnt from reliable sources.

The reason behind his resignation and his next move remain unknown at this time.

Venkatasubramanian was associated with Havas Media India for over a decade, across two stints. He previously served as President – Investments at Havas Media India.

Mohit Joshi, CEO, Havas Media Network India, said, “We are currently in the middle of a restructuring, but Venkat has decided to move on. I wish him all the best."

Around two years ago, he was entrusted with an additional responsibility as Managing Director of Havas Play, alongside his existing role.

In May last year, he was elevated to the position of Chief Operating Officer at Havas Play. Under his leadership, Havas Play delivered strong performance across sports, content, and entertainment, launching several successful IPs and initiatives. His contributions helped the division establish itself as a leading player in an intensely competitive landscape.

Prior to his tenure at Havas, Venkatasubramanian served for nearly six and a half years as Senior Vice President at Initiative Media (India).

He has also worked for about a year as Vice President at MPG and as Associate Vice President at Lintas Media Group for nearly a decade.
