The Hindustan Times has appointed Medha Shri Dahiya as the Editor, to head the social media strategy, IPs and specials for the entertainment, features and lifestyle beat (EFL) of the newspaper.
She is tasked with hacking growth on all social media platforms for HTCity and other EFLs of Hindustan Times. Besides, she is expected to innovate and execute IPs (awards, shows, events, et cetera). She will be reporting to Sonal Kalra, chief managing editor, entertainment & lifestyle, Hindustan Times.
This is her second stint at HT. She worked for 7.5 years with HTCity before she quit Hindustan Times in 2020. In her first stint, she headed various beats for HTCity, including city & culture. After HT, she had moved to os.me as the editor-in-chief. Later, she joined Explurger, a social media app for travelers co-founded by actor and philanthropist Sonu Sood, as the head of content and communications.
Before moving back to HT, Dahiya was the India Head of Customer Success of Wildr, a troll-free social media app. At Wildr, she was acknowledged for doubling the user base of the app within four months of joining the company. She also headed many partnerships with institutes, brands and roped in several influencers and celebrities to help the app grow.
She has more than 15 years of experience working for top media houses, such as Hindustan Times Media, BCCL (Times of India), Creative Nest Media, among others. She also writes regularly for various national and international magazines and media houses. She also conducts creative writing workshops.
Dahiya is passionate about giving back to society and serves as the board member of the NGO, Meals of Happiness.
