Liz Rutgersson has announced her decision to step down as Chief Executive Officer of iProspect North America, marking the end of a 16-year journey with dentsu. She shared the update through a LinkedIn post, calling the move a 'bittersweet decision' and remembered her years of growth and leadership within the organisation.

In her statement, Rutgersson reflected on her career progression, from starting at Periscopix to contributing to the expansion of Merkle’s media business across London and New York, and eventually leading iProspect in North America. She highlighted how each phase helped shape her leadership style and credited her teams and colleagues for playing a key role in her journey.

“I’ve made the bittersweet decision to leave on a high after 16 years at dentsu. I’ll always be grateful for the experiences, the challenges, and—above all—the friendships. From starting out at the unstoppable Periscopix, where we were empowered to grow as individuals and as a team, to helping drive Merkle’s media growth from London to New York, to ultimately leading iProspect in North America—each chapter has shaped who I am as a leader”, the LinkedIn post read.

“I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built along the way—particularly at iProspect, where we scaled the business, brought together multiple agencies into a unified media model, and established our position as a market leader, achieving recognition as the fastest-growing agency. I couldn’t possibly tag everyone who has supported me along this journey, but I’m deeply grateful to every team member, partner, and client who made it possible”, she added.

Rutgersson is a seasoned marketing professional. Over the past two decades, she has led transformation across EMEA and the US spanning media, strategy and technology. That foundation now informs how I think about what’s next—where identity, AI, and real-time signals are reshaping how brands compete.
