Leo Puri steps down as HUL Independent Director 

According to the company, Leo Puri took the decision due to an increase in his board commitments

Leo Puri has tendered his resignation as the Independent Director of the Hindustan Unilever Limited, with effect from 30th June, 2025, 

According to the company, Puri took the decision due to an increase in his board commitments, including his proposed appointment on the board of a global entity and the overboarding criteria for Independent Directors as prescribed under the European Corporate Governance requirements. 

He shall also cease to be the Chairperson of the Risk Management Committee, ESG Committee and Independent Committee and a Member of Audit Committee of the Company, HUL has informed the stock exchanges.

Puri was appointed as Independent Director in October 2018. 

He is a member of the Audit Committee and Environmental, Social and Governance Committee and the Chairperson of Risk Management Committee of the Company.

Puri was also the Managing Director of UTI Asset Management Company Limited from August, 2013 to August, 2018.

In his career spanning over 30 years, Puri has previously worked as Director with Mckinsey & Company and Managing Director with Warburg Pincus.
